Getting a good night's sleep is not only essential for adults,
it plays a key role in cognition and physical growth for your baby that may last a lifetime.
At around 10 - 12 weeks of age, infants begin to establish a circadian rhythm.
At 12-16 weeks, babies can be encouraged to sleep longer stretches at night.
We are more than happy to step in and help with a sleep learning intensive and
modify it for your unique needs.
Studies show that:
Sleep plays a key role in early development
Central nervous system structure maturation depends on the regulation of the sleep/wake cycle.
Similar to adults, better sleep benefits memory and language learning.
Sleep efficiency and longer periods of night time sleep were significantly associated with better cognitive problem-solving skills
Infants who woke more at night performed poorer in memory generalization tasks.
Because sleep plays a role in energy balance and the regulation of the hormones - melatonin, cortisol, leptin, ghrelin, insulin like growth factor -1, prolactin and growth hormone,
Quantity and quality of sleep can cause weight gain or stunt growth and impair hormone release.
Children age 6 months to 2 years who slept less than 12 hours a day were at increased risk of higher BMI (body mass index), skinfold thickness and were at higher risk for obesity.
On the other end of the spectrum, stunting was also associated with shorter night sleep duration,
more night waking and shorter naps.

Your baby needs sleep, every bit as much as you.
Every skill is acquired through practice.
We do not utilize the "cry it out" method of sleep training. You do not need to hire a specialist to shut the door to the nursery and walk out.
Every skill your baby learns takes practice. Sleeping is no different. When a baby learns to crawl, they struggle, they roll and squirm, they get up on their knees and begin to scoot. They get frustrated and sometimes they get stuck and cry. When a baby learns to walk, they fall down. They cry. They get back up and they try again. Instead of limiting your baby's efforts to crawl and walk, you encourage them and praise them when they try. You support them in their efforts. You comfort them.
You would never stop your child's normal development because learning a skill is frustrating. Why do we treat sleep any different?
Our method of sleep learning is compassionate and caring. We are there to reassure your baby that they are safe and loved.
Learning to connect sleep cycles can be challenging - and that's why you're here! We are confident that we can help your family.
